On June 5th, 2026, the Izuba Foundation team visited GS Kamabare in Bugesera District to spend time with the five children we have been supporting. It was a moment to connect, to listen, and to see firsthand how they are doing.
These are children facing circumstances no child should have to face alone. Some have lost both parents; some are self-parenting—getting themselves up, getting themselves to school, and carrying the weight of adult responsibilities at an age when they should only be worrying about homework. Most could not afford a school meal, a uniform, or a pair of shoes.
Through our support, those basics have been taken care of. But this visit was about something beyond the practical. It was about showing up. About making sure these children know they are seen, they are valued, and they are not walking this road alone.
Showing up ensures that every child feels secure in their learning environment. The physical connection helps build genuine long-term confidence and academic resilience.
Those words stayed with us. This is why Izuba Foundation exists: not to run programs from a distance, but to show up, to sit with communities, and to look children in the eye and say: you are not forgotten.
This is just the beginning. We are expanding our support to more students and more schools across Rwanda. If you believe every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and thrive, join us. Together, we ignite potential to inspire communities.
